Re: Type 45 Destroyer (Daring Class) (RN) [News Only]
It's a little confusing when the datasheet is shown states the latest long-range radar installed https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2021/03/thales-completes-hms-dauntless-s1850m-long-range-radar-overhaul/ if maintenance was just replacement of parts becoming obsolete etc. that should been stated ,...

Re: Australian Defence Force
This article suggests the Hanwha Redback has an overall height of 3.82 metres I was wondering since this is considerably more than that of the m1a1 tank that can be deployed off the Canberra class ships will this height be an impediment,I have no knowledge if the trials between the Redback and Lynx ...

Re: Type 83 Destroyer (RN) [News Only]
Would it be a stretch of the hope to suggest the type 83 if based on the type 26 hull may have similar abilities and capabilities to Canadas future frigate which also has a towed array and spy-7 radar and everything else they could fit , after all if the Canadians have gone to the expense of upgradi...

Research into nuclear weapons was stopped several decades ago and there are conflicting stories why, I won't go into details of some of the research I became aware of but it was serious.

I have read that the U.S.A.F plans for new secure data links between the f35 and the f-15ex could be interesting for carrier operations

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
This article provides some of the reasoning behind the purchase of the fighter it's worth noting its about 7 thousand dollars an hour cheaper to fly than the F35 ,if the U.S.A.F tht originally wanted to keep to a fifth-generation force adopted this aircraft it could still order many whilst still hav...

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
It could be well to remember that the main role of the f35 in piercing air defences has not been shown to be able to be performed by fourth-generation aircraft, having just a token amount deployed to the navy when if situations develop means they are needed elsewhere in the land theatre suggests tha...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
With the discussion around the ability to launch U.A.Vs of a meaningful size for instance the MQ-25 for the U.S.N would carry 15,000 pounds of fuel for extending the range of aircraft ,is it worth considering a new build of ship for the launch of U.A.V,s that could support carrier operations and eve...

It is interesting to consider how a submarine that has a deep diving vessel that can potentially drop in on many of the sensitive undersea cables is countered , if the submarines of the current U.S and R.N cant achieve those depths do they also mount deep diving vessels to protect such cables

It would be of interest to know if there is a commitment to a realistic stockpile of missiles for all scenarios, or even on what are the guidelines for ships to carry a full missile loadout, and serious conflict with a peer may be on the likelihood of how long a supply of munitions may last and be p...
