Agreed. It is very refreshing to see us being dragged along by someone with infinitely more drive for defence investment than ourselves. Tying ourselves to American programmes, be it the 35 or the Rivet Joint, has seemingly stopped up from dragging our heels over matters of capability in a number o...

Re: UK and the European Union. In or Out?
If there was a third option, stay but trade only, which I believe was the original vote back in the 70's. I'd be fine with that, it's the extra stuff that was added without a vote, that I'm not happy with.

The YF.23 just looked right. I can't recall where but there were internet rumours of this type being developed into a strategic recon asset. Maybe / Maybe not? Aurora, remember reading AirForces Monthly back in the 90's, an article speculating that one had made an emergency landing at Boscombe. Int...

Can anyone advise what happens if we ever need the 5 which are leased out to thecommerical sector? Yes the SMLE was as controversial when it entered service. But for the right reasons and it did prove to be a world stopper unlike the SA80.

If P-8 was acquired but AAs was not exportable, maybe the Sentinel's radar could be modified to a similar configuration? With Raytheon making both I'm sure they would be able to help (for the right price).
