British Army Launches First Ever Aviation Brigade The British Army has launched its first ever aviation brigade, combining capability previously split between the Aviation Reconnaissance Force and the Attack Helicopter Force.
1st Aviation Brigade has merged the reconnaissance capabilities of the Wildcat helicopter, from 1st Regiment Army Air Corps (AAC), and the firepower of the Apache helicopter, from 3rd and 4th Regiment AAC.

How likely is it that this brigade may conduct trials off the carriers and would such aircraft require "navalizing'

The question is whether or not it is a Combat Brigade or just an administrative organisation. I suspect its rather more of the latter.

I actually suspect it's more of a combat formation rather than an administrative one. The reason being that there's already Joint Helicopter Command as the administrative formation. The 1 Aviation Brigade seems more about command and control of aviation assets in a war fighting division.

Possibly a role of 1AB is for it to act more as an independent "strike" brigade and not just to support ground forces.

16X is a high readiness light infantry brigade; it does not have any aviation assets attached to it. If troop helicopters are required these would be assigned from JHC, as would be the case for any infantry brigade.
