I think it snows in Italy and other NATO countries. Just wonder how that compares to other winter/snowy camouflage.

The Italians have some pretty good Alpine/Mountain warfare units on their roster. The average low temperature in Norway as well as the terrain will be a change for them though. Now we just need to get out Army to send some units for training in the same conditions as per what the Royal Marines do.

What wintry camo do the Royals have?

They have used light weight white clothing over their existing uniform I believe, but with a few add ons like thermals and so on in the past, the same as used by the Royal Marines have done.

I wonder if they will get different MultiCams for the two different UK LRGs.

At 11,000 t these new Italian DDX are practically cruisers, They are pretty much double the size of the Durand de la Penne class that it mentions they are replacing!

Great to see our NATO allies in the Med investing in their navy.

If Italy has sent Spike MR2 or LR2 to Ukraine that is a real step change. These weapons are even more effective than Javelin, with the bonus that they are manufactured in Europe. Mial is also a 2nd Generation system and in its later Milan 2 and Milan 3 forms would still be very effective though its SACLOS guidance would make the operators more vulnerable and only the very last versions were given a top attack capability and I do not know if Italy received any of these.

Ten Regiments of long Range Artillery with modern ammunition. Really shows how bad a position the British Army is in and will be for another decade! Once again well done to the Italian military.

Those two standoff weapons will give the UAS a potent capability with SPEAR 3 most likely aimed at priority targets and the other as a swarm weapon as mentioned. I wonder if any thought has been given to fitting SPEAR 3 to the RAFs planned Protector Mk1s?
