Bombardier Defense celebrated the arrival of a Global 6000 aircraft in Wichita, Kansas as part of the next phase of the company’s contract to support Lufthansa Technik’s participation in the HENSOLDT-led PEGASUS program of the German armed forces. Bombardier Defense will utilize its expertise to perform major structural modifications to accommodate the "Kalætron Integral" signal intelligence (SIGINT) system developed by HENSOLDT, which collects and analyzes military signals from radar and radio systems. The integration of this system will subsequently be performed at Lufthansa Technik’s special mission aircraft competence centre in Hamburg, Germany. Bombardier has previously delivered three Global 6000 jets to Lufthansa Technik since the aircraft was selected for the program in 2020.

WASHINGTON — German government leaders on Wednesday announced a deal to buy 35 F-35 fighter jets from the United States, a package pegged at $8.4 billion by the Pentagon in its offer from the summer.

Signature of the letter of acceptance caps Berlin’s years-long quest to replace the portion of its aging Tornado fleet tasked with carrying out NATO’s doctrine of nuclear weapons sharing. German officials had decided on the Lockheed Martin-made jet in the spring, setting in motion the purchasing process for the aircraft, weapons and spares.

Training of German pilots with the first new planes is slated to begin in 2026 in the United States. Those activities are scheduled to move to Germany the following year, before the Luftwaffe, Germany’s air force, declares an initial operational capability in 2028.

Following Berlin’s purchase of the sixth-generation fighter jets, Lockheed Martin expects to reach out to local industry early in 2023 to include German subcontractors in the F-35 program, a company spokesman told Defense News.

Generally, there are limits to how much work can be awarded locally to international F-35 customers, as the jet contains secret technologies only the U.S. government and its contractors are allowed to service.

The ‘System Sturmgewehr Bundeswehr’ or System Assault Rifle Bundeswehr will be made up of two variants of the HK416 – the G95A1, likely to have a 16.5 inch barrel, and the G95KA1 carbine variant which will have a 14 inch barrel.

16.5 and 14 inches? What's the point in that?

Maybe they think there will be delay to MAWS & are hedging their bets.... i can see a demand for second hand poseidons next decade as all the orions will be totally nakerd ! maybe even the UK could buy some to increase our numbers on the cheap :D would of been better if the line meshed & we co-designed the airbus a320 MPA 10 years ago...imo

Could have been based off a functional A320 neo family design aswell, with wings and lots of other stuff made in UK... MAWS will probably be delayed until it will be a P-8 replacement after less-than-interim-more-like-fulltime usage.
Remember airbus A320 M3A? Essentially P-8, E-7, BBJ family with more commonality.

Airbus missed a trick there, when the Nimrod MRA4 was canned in 2010, Airbus should have jumped in and offered to fund putting all the Nimrod's tech on the A320 (obviously there would have been airframe issues to work through, but better than starting from scratch). It would have been more Euro-friendly to the government than the P-8 and been appealing to the French and Germans... Although both would have wanted to take over the programme

https://www.airbus.com/en/newsroom/pres ... gest-h145m

The German Bundeswehr and Airbus Helicopters have signed a contract for the purchase of up to 82 multi-role H145M helicopters (62 firm orders plus 20 options). This is the largest order ever placed for the H145M and consequently the largest for the HForce weapon management system. The contract also includes seven years of support and services, ensuring optimal entry into service. The German Army will receive fifty-seven helicopters, while the Luftwaffe's special forces will receive five.

The H145M is a multi-role military helicopter that provides a broad range of mission capabilities. Within minutes, the helicopter can be reconfigured from a light attack role with axial ballistic and guided weapons and a state-of-the-art self-protection system into a special operations version including fast rappelling equipment. The comprehensive mission packages include hoisting and external cargo capabilities. Additionally, the new German H145M includes options for future mission capabilities including the ability to operate with the integration of Manned-Unmanned Teaming and upgraded data links and communication systems.
