Top Ten Favourite War Films

Post by SKB »

What are your Favourite War Films' ?

Mine are the old WWII classics that only used to be on the telly at Easter and Christmas (wasn't that weird?). I mostly enjoyed the prisoner of war escape genre. My list in order of the year produced:

1. The Wooden Horse (1950) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0043147/
2. The Colditz Story (1954) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047945/
3. The Dam Busters (1955) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046889/
4. Dunkirk (1958) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051565/
5. The Longest Day (1962) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056197/
6. The Password Is Courage (1962) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056335/
7. The Great Escape (1963) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057115/
8. Operation Crossbow (1965) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059549/
9. Where Eagles Dare (1968) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065207/
10. The Battle Of Britain (1969) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064072/

Am I allowed Dr Strangelove - it is a Cold War film?

Absolutely you can, I love that film and if it taught me nothing else it taught me that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face. :D
