Re: Georgia (Republic of)
There was a mission from the US in Georgia, of similar size to the one from the UK now in headlines, at the time the Russia-Georgia war broke out
- the US personnel were ordered to stay strictly out of it (some kit was lost regardless)
Looking forward, rather than back, these ex-Soviet republics have had their currencies plunging as disentangling the economic ties will take decades (and without a synchronised devaluation their home industries would be overwhelmed). Hence the ability to invest in defence (more the kit side of it than personnel or training) has been seriously curtailed:
"Ukraine raised its benchmark interest rate last week to 30 percent, the world’s highest, after the hryvnia tumbled to a record 34.247 per dollar in February. Georgia and Armenia, whose currency lost 14 percent over the past year, have also lifted rates -- again, to little effect."
- without such hikes, the prospect of a diving currency would set capital flight in motion
- with such hikes economic activity will have some serious braking applied
... there's no win in there, however you choose to look at it

Ever-lasting truths: Multi-year budgets/ planning by necessity have to address the painful questions; more often than not the Either-Or prevails over Both-And.

Re: Georgia (Republic of)
Ukraine should get some Torpedo lauching USV's.
We have see ukrainian USV's with payloads the same or more than torpedo's that destroy a ship (water density) yet the USV's only damage or disable.
So get a few torpedo's, use the USV's as range extenders, and soon all of the black sea fleet will be doomed. Can get around Sevastopol harbour defences, and so much more. Heck, send one of Ukrainians IPV's to syria with a few UAV's, and presto.
