EID Wins Portuguese Army Software Defined Radio Order

EID, a Cohort company, has received an order from the Portuguese Ministry of Defence (MoD), valued at €7.5 million, for the supply of PRC-525 software defined radios (SDR).

The PRC-525 is already in service with the Portuguese Army and Navy. An initial €40 million order was fulfilled in 2015, since when the multiband, multirole, multimode tactical SDR have been used extensively on exercises, operations and peacekeeping missions. Deliveries under this follow-on order are to take place 2017-2023.

Portugal ordered 5 Embraer KC-390

Seems rather pricey, 932 mil. USD for 5 aircrafts.

On the other hand, considering that Portuguese OGMA has an important share in production of the KC-390, maybe this is Portuguese F-35 ( like British share of 15% ).
